Sukiyaki

This is a very popular type of meal in Japan.  The word (yaki) means sauté or grill in Japanese.  The meal is cooked at the table, simmered on a skillet or pan in sukiyaki sauce.  The main ingredients are thinly sliced beef and vegetables.  Beef quality is quite important for this meal therefore the tenderest type of beef can be quite expensive.
